Email for Dr. Furfero

Dr. Furfero is looking for students who would like to compete on the St. John's University team in the Federal Reserve Bank's 2017 College FED Challenge. Since St. John's has experienced students, it competes in the Liberty Street competition. The first round of the Liberty Street competition will be held on October 31 2017. The winning team from the Liberty Street division of the New York Fed competition will represent the Second District in the National College Fed Challenge on December 1, 2017, at the Board of Governors in Washington, D.C. More details will be forthcoming at the Student Orientation on September 19, 2017. Please preview what the competition is like and what it entails:

Students will meet at designated times and places, like Common Hours or early evenings or Sunday afternoons/evenings in the Library, to discuss, debate, and update the trends in the historical data and the new forecasts for 2016 and 2017, current economic and financial conditions, and monetary policy developments and initiatives in light of changing events.

updateThe next meeting is scheduled for Monday, September 25, 2017, from 6:30-8:30 pm, in Conference Room #380 on the third floor in Bent Hall. Go through the door to the faculty offices and take a right at the first pass.

There are no official prerequisites for participation. However, having taken ECO 2309 Money and Banking is a plus.
