Brendon Singh I was born in Manhattan in 1986. I grew up
in Brooklyn with my two sisters. I currently reside in Fresh Meadows, Queens. My main interests are cars, video
games, hanging out with friends and family, and motorcycles.
At the moment I am studying at St. John's University to
attain my MBA in Finance. I work full-time in the city for Euclidean Capital, as an accountant, managing equities
accounts. I like the challenge of completing a hard day of work, but I can't imagine working in an office for the rest
of my life. I really feel at home at the race track. Someday I aspire to win a championship title in the AMA (American
Motorcyclist Association) series. | | Top |
Sema Sadaruddin I have been in education for the last 10 years of my life as a part-time student. I completed my Bachelors in Economics at Queens College. I am in the last semester of my MBA in Finance at St. John's. I work in the financial sector as a Subject Matter Expert (SME). I have worked at several of the well known firms on Wall Street, including Fidelity, Charles Schwab, UBS, Merrill Lynch, and now at HSBC. I have worked on the trading floor supporting traders, but now work in the backoffice.
I used to work as a part-time real estate agent when the markets were at their peak. I managed to acquire enough hours to be able to obtain my Broker's License. I have put my practice on the back burner in order to complete my Masters. I enjoy reading, music, good company and philosophy. Born in the UK, I have 6 siblings, two of which live in the UK and the rest live in the tri-state area. I live in Queens, and hope to pursue either a J.D. or Ph.D eventually. |

Sung Ho Byun I am a second year Finance major. Before I enrolled in St. John's MBA program, most of my time was spent on design and engineering projects. If you are interested, samples of my work can be seen here (http://www.stiloengineering.com). When the weather is nice, I like to play golf, and when time is abundant, I'll seek out a book.

John Lozowski I am 24 years old and live in Setauket, NY. Setauket is on the north shore of Suffolk County, LI, about 5 minutes away from Stony Brook University. I attended Stony Brook University from 2005-2009 where I graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in Economics. I decided to enroll in St. John's MBA program after almost a year of looking for a full-time job in my field with no luck. I currently work part-time at a Best Buy near where I live.
Since I consider studying economics and finance a genuine hobby of mine, I am very interested in this course and hope to get a better understanding of macroeconomic stabilization policy out of it.
Besides keeping up on the ongoing debate surrounding economic and public policy, I also enjoy sports, movies, and video games. |

Ann-Katrin Kohnle (Anka) I was born in a small town near Stuttgart, Germany. I went to school for 13 years (which is normal in Germany) and was a social butterfly. I had okay grades but wasn't very interested in studying. I decided to come to the US after I graduated from High School in 2006.
I started my undergraduate studies at Missouri Valley College in January of 2007. I transferred to Judson University in Elgin, IL, that summer and earned my Bachelor's degree in Marketing and Accounting in December of 2010. At Judson, I discovered that I love to learn and that I can achieve anything I put my mind to with God's help.
This past year, I worked for a German burner manufacturer in Elgin and learned the dynamics and limitations of an international corporation. This is my first semester at St. John's and I am looking forward to learning new things and meeting new people. |

Dehan Basnayake I am originally from Colombo, Sri Lanka, but moved to New York when I was 6. I have also lived in Vienna, Austria, and have traveled extensively in Europe and Asia. I now live in Kew Gardens, I work in Connecticut, I have long work hours, a long commute and like professor Furfero I have a fast red (Bordeaux) car which gets me some expensive speeding tickets.
I am married; my wife is from Guyana and is a banker at HSBC. We have the cutest (and, of course, smartest) baby daughter, Anya, who is now 2 and talking non-stop. Being a dad is the greatest experience of my life.
My career has been a combination of very hard work, good luck, and the opportunity to work for, with, and even against some extremely smart people. I enjoy working at start ups, small to medium sized companies where you really get to impact the business and learn so much.
I currently work as Operations Director at The Little Blue Book, Inc. the leading physician practice reference. I manage the supply chain, print production, outsourced call center, warehouse as well as internal IT infrastructure. I have almost 18 years of experience in operations and previously worked as the VP of Operations at Main Street Direct, a private direct marketing agency where for 14 years, I managed a very successful direct to consumer product division shipping over 4 million orders a year.
When I'm not working I enjoy playing with my daughter, hanging out with my wife, family and friends, often discussing politics and current events. My wife and I also enjoy all of the great restaurants in NYC, trying out different cuisines and wine and, when we can fit it into our schedules, traveling overseas. I also spend hours and hours studying for my MBA!
I thought of getting an MBA in 2000 and finally got around to starting it in 2008. I'm older than most students, but it's never too late to learn more and, in this job market, it is better to be prepared with as many qualifications as possible. I'm doing the part-time program, working around my job and family responsibilities. My MBA concentration is Controllership and I expect to be finished by the end of this year. I look forward to learning about monetary and fiscal policy and broadening my knowledge and getting to know my fellow classmates. |
